0catch.com Getting Started Tutorial
Thank you for becoming a 0catch.com member. Now that your account has been setup, the first step to getting your site created is logging into the user manager.
If you don't already have your site created with 3rd party software you can use our online site builder. Please click on the Site builder link as pointed out below.
The online site builder provides the basics to creating your website. Though its not the most reccomended method to creating your website. We provide the online builder as a convenience to our customers. If the online site builder isn't meeting your needs or you want to try a great 3rd party web authoring software I highly reccomend you download CuteSite Builder from the link provided. Its great for beginners and the intermediate user. We also support Frontpage and Dreamweaver. (frontpage extensions are only available to paying customers) You can check out our tutorials on how to upload to your site with these 3rd party programs in the tech support / faq section of our site.
Click on the USE SITE BUILDER link to launch the site builder.
The online site builder uses java plug-in. If the site builder doesn't come up for you, you will need to install a Java Virtual Machine. You can download it a the following links: Windows Users / Macintosh Users. At the next page choose a blank document or one of the templated provided. Make sure the folder is set to / and the filename is index.html.
Now that you are in the web editor it should look like the screen below. Please take a minute to get familiar with all the functions of the editor. Most of the features are very similar to your standard word processor. When your done creating your page make sure to click save button at the bottom of the screen. If you need help understanding how to use any of the features please click on the small question mark in the upper right corner.
Now that your done creating your homepage (index.html) you can visit your site and preview your work. Please open a new browser and go to yourusername.0catch.com to preview your site. Your site should come up if everything was done correctly.
Congratulations your homepage is now online. To create more webpages repeat the same process as above but name the new page something other than index.html and provide a hyperlink to the new page in your index.html
